We have never played by the rules of the system, and our track “Guillotine” stands as proof that we refuse to stay silent. It dives straight into the most turbulent chapters of history to sound a thunderous modern warning about what happens when inequality is allowed to grow unchecked.

As noted in a review by Distortion Diaries, the track arrives with a distinct intensity:

““Guillotine” arrives with the kind of theatrical force that refuses to sit quietly in the background.”

We didn’t want to approach historical subjects with the detached, boring tone of a textbook. Instead, we aimed to make the revolution feel immediate, loud, and physically present. As the publication points out regarding the musical arrangement:

“Rock provides the muscle, alternative pop supplies accessibility, orchestration expands the emotional scale, and the production carries the grandiosity of a movie soundtrack.”

The Sound of Confrontation and Spectacle

Every second of “Guillotine” is built for movement, confrontation, and high-stakes spectacle. Underneath all the cinematic thunder lies a stark, unavoidable question: what happens when people who have been ignored finally decide they have nothing left to lose?

The track takes the familiar imagery of revolutionary France — the aristocracy, the starving populace, barricades, torches, pitchforks, and the infamous execution device — and transforms it into a musical pressure cooker. The chorus serves as a direct battle cry that is designed to be impossible to ignore. Regarding the raw impact of the lyrics, Distortion Diaries highlights:

“The refrain, ‘Right now, grab the pitchforks, heads off, straight to the guillotine,’ is deliberately blunt and provocative, echoing the imagery associated with revolutionary violence rather than softening the historical narrative into something comfortable.”

Why Does This Matter Right Now?

“Guillotine” uses history as a mirror, asking listeners to consider what lessons remain relevant when economic power becomes concentrated and the distance between those with enormous wealth and those struggling to survive becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. The accompanying video pushes that concept even further, turning the song into a visual nightmare of wealth, corruption, and revolt where severed heads float among wads of money, jewelry, and gold as a symbol of a system consuming itself.

Ultimately, as the review aptly summarizes the core philosophy of the project:

“OpCritical understands that history can be more powerful when it is made to feel alive rather than simply remembered.”

What’s Next?

Our journey doesn’t stop here. If you resonate with our message and feel it’s time to question the narrative, stay tuned. “Guillotine” is just another chapter of our ongoing resistance, and we’re glad to share it with those who are willing to listen.

Keep watching the updates, turn the volume up, and let the music speak for itself.

We have never played by the rules of the system, and our track “Not My America” stands as proof that we refuse to stay silent. It has become the voice of those who refuse to accept the imposed reality.

As noted in a review by Buzzy Band, “OpCritical ain’t messin’ around. Not even a little bit.” We are not just making music; we are carving out a zone of resistance. As the reviewer points out, our lyrics don’t hold back, coming “at you like a sledgehammer wrapped in poetry.” We wanted to capture the exhaustion of the endless cycle of lies that has everyone’s nerves on edge.

Why Does This Matter Right Now?

“Not My America” is more than just a song; it is a mirror reflecting the state of society. In a world trying to convince us that falling is the only option left, we offer a different path: lift your gaze, recognize the manipulation, and make your stance known. As the article perfectly summarizes our mission: “Cruelty and indifference are poisons that corrode the very fabric of society, and we cannot allow them to become normalized.”

What’s Next?

Our journey doesn’t stop here. If you resonate with our message and feel it’s time to question the narrative, stay tuned. “Not My America” is just one chapter of our ongoing journey, and we’re glad to share it with those who are willing to listen.

2026 has proven to be an exceptionally prolific year for OpCritical, with “Parachute” release. The band continues to use rock as a powerful tool to examine and reflect upon the most pressing social and political challenges of our time.

As noted by Revista Soundloop in their recent review, the new track invites listeners to pause amid the relentless chaos of hyper-modernity:

“En este mundo hipermoderno lleno de incertidumbres, el paracaídas es una oportunidad para recuperar el control. Es la posibilidad de detener la caída, reflexionar y volver a elegir un rumbo”

“In this hyper-modern world full of uncertainties, the parachute is an opportunity to regain control. It is the possibility of stopping the fall, reflecting, and choosing a new course once again”.

A Return to Inner Freedom

The core message of the song echoes the principles of humanistic philosophy—drawing parallels to thinkers like Erich Fromm and Viktor Frankl, who emphasized that true societal change is impossible without the development of genuine inner freedom. The band reminds us that justice and harmony are not merely political matters, but deeply personal choices.

The review highlights the depth of the song’s key lyrical messages, which form a cohesive manifesto:

“Gotta find freedom, gotta be happy, gotta seek justice, gotta know what is right”.

The critics break down these fundamental pillars:

Freedom is defined as the right to live without fear and to consciously choose one’s own path, breaking free from anything that compromises authenticity.

Happiness goes beyond simple comfort; it is the natural consequence of living in alignment with one’s true values.

Justice and knowing what is right require inner integrity, respect for human dignity, and the ability to distinguish truth from manipulation.

Music with a Mission

OpCritical proves once again that their art is driven by profound conviction rather than fleeting trends. Their brand of rock combines urgency with accessibility, creating an atmosphere of resilience without losing emotional resonance. Instead of cheap shock value, the band chooses an honest dialogue about dignity, personal responsibility, and the enduring human quest for freedom.

The release of OpCritical’s latest single and music film, “Liar Liar”, has ignited a powerful wave of international acclaim. Media outlets from across the globe—spanning the US, Europe, and Ukraine—have come together to praise the project’s razor-sharp political satire, its explosive punk-rock energy, and its groundbreaking visual execution.

As the team behind this project, we envisioned a dark, uncompromising world that strips away the facades of power. Our lead director crafted a visual language that is as cerebral as it is biting, and the international press reaction confirms that the message has hit its mark with absolute precision.

Here is what the international media is saying about the visual and narrative depth of Liar Liar:

Karl Is My Unkle (US)

The influential cultural platform Karl Is My Unkle praised the release for its intellectual weight, calling it a “cerebrally brilliant” piece of art that shines a direct light on society’s fractures. They particularly emphasized the project’s unique visual impact.

“We appreciate the zeitgeist notions and the overarching concept of the song which is designed to shine a light on the state of society right now.” — Karl Is My Unkle.

Frequenze Musicali (Italy)

Italy’s Frequenze Musicali caught the exact contrast we aimed for, describing the video as a “LEGO-format punk rock assault that demolishes oligarchs.” They noted how the choice of a block-built aesthetic creates a brilliant, surreal juxtaposition with the heavy, dark themes of corruption and greed.

Source: Frequenze Musicali: Read the Italian Feature

Soundloop Magazine (EU)

Soundloop Magazine highlighted the exceptional synergy between sound and vision, noting that our work transcends the boundaries of a standard music video. They praised the uncompromising artistic vision that transforms “Liar Liar” into a cohesive cinematic experience, where the music and the visual narrative constantly elevate one another to create an atmosphere of inevitable tension.

We are thrilled to share a recent feature by Loop Solitaire, where they took a deep dive into the creative universe of OpCritical and the release of the music film Doing Fine. The article highlights how the project blends gritty indie-rock energy with cinematic storytelling, specifically noting the unique atmospheric tension and visual identity we’ve built from scratch.

“This is a loud, restless track built around resistance, individuality, and the refusal to be pushed into someone else’s idea of what a person should be.” — Loop Solitaire

In the feature, the author peels back the layers of the track, cutting straight to the core of our message. They perfectly capture the grit of the sound and the visceral, wabi-sabi-inspired visual landscapes we’ve built—worlds where beauty resides in the fracture, and tension is the primary language. It’s a rare, insightful take on how we bridge the gap between uncompromising independent music and high-end cinematic art to create something that refuses to be ignored.

The release of OpCritical’s latest single and music film, Liar Liar, marked a pivotal moment for our production team. We set out to create a visual companion to a track that is raw, aggressive, and deeply critical of modern societal fractures. The goal wasn’t just to make a standard music video, but to build a cerebral, visually striking narrative that subverts the traditional images of power, greed, and oligarchy.

Here is a look behind the curtain at the creative philosophy, stylistic choices, and artistic contrasts that shaped the universe of Liar Liar.

The Contrast of Form: LEGO Aesthetics vs. Dark Reality

The most defining creative decision of the project was utilizing a brick-built, stop-motion-inspired visual style. On the surface, toy bricks represent childhood, order, and play. However, by plunging this familiar medium into a dark, gritty atmosphere, we created a powerful juxtaposition.

Seeing corrupt power dynamics, financial greed, and the demolition of oligarchic structures played out in a structured, block-based world amplifies the absurdity of modern corruption. It allowed us to deliver a fierce, uncompromising political commentary while maintaining a highly stylized, cinematic layer that captures the viewer’s attention immediately.

Visualizing the Fractures of Society

Musically, Liar Liar captures the heavy, driving energy of classic punk rock mixed with modern alternative edge. To translate this sonically dense atmosphere into visuals, we focused heavily on pacing, rhythm, and tension.

Rather than relying on clean, polished digital landscapes, we leaned into organic textures, sharp contrasts, and a tense color palette. This choice reflects a deeper creative philosophy: embracing raw imperfections to mirror the fractured realities of the systems we are critiquing.

A Universal Message with Global Resonance

What makes Liar Liar stand out is how its anti-corruption message transcends regional boundaries. Power struggles, institutional greed, and the desire for societal truth are universal themes.

Ultimately, Liar Liar is proof that independent music videos can still hold immense cultural and intellectual weight. It balances entertainment with substance, showing that visual directors can turn bold political resistance into a high-end piece of contemporary visual art.

“USA” calls on people across the country to stand together to reclaim democracy and decency in America. The song grabs attention by mixing punk, rock, and modern melodies in a unique and scorching way.

The “USA” music video uses hundreds of American-themed graphics, slogans, and images to depict the pandemonium and insanity currently facing the country. These are interspersed with the lyrics of the song, which describe that chaos – “We’re living in a crazy place, don’t like what I see, what a disgrace, black is white, up is down, it’s all in my face….” But that chaotic description is tempered with hopeful calls to “rise up, fight back, wake up, act up, and stand up so we can find our way back.” In this way, the song and the video harken back to powerful protest songs of the past, pointing out injustices while demanding action. The music, meanwhile, hooks today’s audiences with shifts from rock to trap to punk and a cool female voice singing an Arabic melody overlaid with a punk call to action: “Gotta gotta say it, say it right now. Gotta gotta do it, do it right now.” These striking contrasts, combined with different musical genres, are both thought-provoking and inspiring.

“American citizens are confused and afraid of all the turmoil they see in their daily lives, but together, they can unite to reclaim their humanity and country,” said OpCritical. “USA is meant to show every American that together there is a better way forward.”

Formed in 2026, OpCritical emerges not as a personality-driven act, but as a message-driven collective. With their debut single Not Alone, the band positions itself firmly within the tradition of protest music—songs designed not just to entertain, but to awaken, unify, and challenge. Drawing structural and emotional inspiration from Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s landmark protest anthem Ohio, Not Alone reimagines that spirit for a new political and cultural moment. Where “Ohio” galvanized opposition to the Vietnam War, OpCritical’s single addresses what they describe as the rising winds of authoritarianism in the United States and beyond. The song’s message is direct: collective action and civic courage remain essential in protecting democratic values.

Not Alone blends classic protest-rock urgency with a modern edge. Driving guitars and emphatic rhythms support lyrics that urge unity, accountability, and resistance to injustice. The tone is resolute rather than despairing—less about fear, more about solidarity. The repeated idea at the heart of the track is simple but powerful: no one stands alone when people choose to stand together. OpCritical’s mission is clear. The members intentionally keep their identities in the background, placing focus on the cause rather than celebrity. Their stated aim is to champion decency, tolerance, honesty, and the rule of law through music and visual media, continuing to release material “as long as necessary” to address what they view as daily injustices.

Not Alone functions as both song and statement of intent. It signals that OpCritical is not entering the music scene quietly—they are entering it with purpose. In an era of polarization and digital noise, the band leans into the enduring power of guitars, melody, and collective voice to focus attention on civic responsibility. Whether listeners approach it as a political anthem, a revival of protest-rock tradition, or simply a reminder of shared values, Not Alone sets the tone for OpCritical’s future output: urgent, outspoken, and unapologetically committed to speaking truth to power.

I listened to OpCritical’s debut single, Not Alone, and I have to say, it really hits hard, both musically and emotionally. From the first notes, I could tell this isn’t just another song; it’s a call to action. The way it riffs off Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young’s Ohio immediately grabbed my attention, but the lyrics feel completely modern and urgent. Listening to it, I could feel the weight of the message—they’re speaking directly to the moment we’re living in, warning about authoritarianism and the dangers of militarized forces within our own country.

The lyrics are what really struck me. When OpCritical sings about “King Trump’s Army” and repeats the line, “together we’re not alone,” it genuinely made me feel a sense of solidarity and purpose. It’s not preachy it’s more like someone sitting across from you, saying, “This matters, and we can do something about it.” I felt a mix of anger, sadness, and hope all at once. The song doesn’t shy away from confronting the reality of ICE, Border Patrol, and National Guard abuses, and it does so in a way that makes you want to take action without feeling hopeless.

OpCritical’s Not Alone Hits Hard

The music video took the song to another level for me. Watching the little girl see cartoons switch to violent footage, and then witnessing the oppressive figure disintegrate as balloons rise—it gave me chills. It’s a clever, symbolic way of showing that unity and hope can overcome fear and violence. I found myself replaying the video just to take in all the details and metaphors, it’s that thought-provoking.

Not Alone feels like the start of something important. OpCritical isn’t just making music, they’re starting a conversation that needs to happen. Listening to this song made me reflect on my own role in standing up for decency and justice, and I can’t wait to see what they release next. This is a debut that demands attention.

The American band, OpCritical, debuts with Not Alone, a protest song accompanied by a video clip that reflects on current events political and social in the United States. It is the first in a series of releases with that strong thematic load, which seeks to mobilize listeners through a message of unity and civic resistance.

The song takes as its starting point Ohio, the protest classic by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young that marked an entire group generation. With rewritten lyrics and updated production, Not Alone it transfers that legacy to the present, redefining social tensions current and denouncing the episodes of violence and repression of the government of Trump.

The OpCritical version maintains simple language and the tone of the original, loaded with warlike and political images. The strength of the single lies in the directness of the political message and in the repetition of the melody that is repeated effectively throughout the song.

Tin soldiers it’s King Trump’s army

They showed us we’re on our own

This summer we hear them coming

Together we’re not alone

The central axis of the song is the opposition between isolation and unity. The opening verse introduces the figure of an army associated with political power, presented as an oppressive force that converts the population is vulnerable (“they showed us we’re on our own”). This feeling of individual helplessness is immediately contrasted with the chorus, where the phrase “together we’re not alone” rephrases the problem: loneliness is one imposed condition, but reversible through collective action.

The lyrics promote a poetic criticism of awareness. In several stanzas the idea appears that he should have stopped earlier so as not to reach this critical point (“should have been stopped long ago”), which it suggests a social self-criticism: there is not only an external antagonist, but also a shared responsibility for having allowed the situation escalara. This resource introduces an ethical dimension that transcends mere complaint.

Another key element is the anticipation of violence. The hypothetical question about the possibility of being shot down and left on the ground install a climate of extreme threat. However, instead of leading to the paralysis, this scenario reinforces the decision to confront (“we’re gonna face ’em all down”). Fear is explicitly recognized, but resignified as resistance motor.

From an expressive point of view, the lyrics use one slogan rhetoric: short, repetitive and easily memorizable phrases that they facilitate the arrival of the message.

The metaphor of the “tin soldiers” refers to one dehumanization of repressive force: toy soldiers who, paradoxically, they embody a real threat. This image introduces a tension interesting between the childish and the violent, suggesting both mechanization of power as its symbolic fragility.

Altogether, the theme of the song is articulated around from three vectors: political denunciation, existential fear and collective solidarity. As we mentioned, its intention is mobilizing, it is part of the tradition of the protest song where the main objective is to generate identification immediate and turn listening into an act of positioning.

The video clip, already released on YouTube, reinforces the discourse of the song through a symbolic narrative. The story follows a girl that witnesses, through a series of screens, scenes of conflict in urban spaces. The appearance of a threatening figure and the subsequent irruption of images associated with national identity construct a metaphor visual about fear, resistance and hope. The video condenses the dramatic tension with a liberating closure.

Formed in 2026, OpCritical is a focused music project more in the message than in the individual identity of its members. The group he states that he will continue to publish music and videos as long as the problems that inspire his work, as an artistic voice committed to the values such as tolerance, honesty and respect for the state of right.

Not Alone it is now available on all platforms better known and not only introduces the band to the scene, but also bets on music as a tool of cultural intervention, seeking to challenge the public and stimulate debate about the present.
